Questions
The awkward ones, answered first.
These are the questions that decide whether this is worth your money. Where the honest answer costs us the sale, it is still the one below.
Do I get my city exclusively?
No, and we will not sell it to you. A $97 subscription that locks a city forever means one dormant partner can freeze a market with nothing we can do about it. It also caps us: scratch & dent has about 39 metros worth working, so exclusivity would cap that niche at 39 partners. Instead you get an occupancy board showing where other partners already are, so you can pick an open lane on purpose. Google decides who wins a contested one.
What happens if the niche does not work?
We swap it. Free, no argument, no time limit — you pick another niche and we seed it. We do not offer money back, and we would rather be straight about why: a refund ends the relationship, and a bad niche is almost never a bad platform. The swap costs us close to nothing and it is the more useful remedy.
How many of these services can I actually sell today?
Three: the free website analysis, the featured listing, and reviews with the NFC card. That is $168/mo retail and $104/mo of margin per client. The leased website is in build and the app has not been started. We would rather you know that before you pay us than after.
There are directory platforms starting at $9 a month. Why is this $97?
Because they sell the software and you supply the businesses. The cheap tiers cap you at around 100 listings, have no custom domain and no bulk import, and they arrive completely empty — you find, verify and type in every business yourself. That is the six months of data entry that kills most directories before the first sales call. You are not paying us $97 for directory software; you are paying for 11,269 businesses already in it, 11,249 phone numbers, and a team that builds the things you resell. If you would rather do the data work yourself, one of those platforms is a genuinely reasonable buy and we would rather you took it.
Whose brand is on the directory?
Yours. It runs on a domain you own — you buy it, we connect it, it goes live. We do not put our name in your footer, and there is no "white label" upgrade to buy, because there is nothing to remove. Worth knowing up front: there is no self-serve domain screen yet, so you tell us the domain and we point it, usually the same day.
Do I own the clients?
Yes. You find them, you close them, you bill them, you keep the relationship. We invoice you at wholesale and never contact the business directly. If you leave, they are still yours — what stops is our fulfilment.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You never touch code, servers, or a design tool. The work is picking a niche, calling the list, and running the accounts you win. If you want to build websites yourself, this is the wrong programme — we do that part deliberately, because a directory owner building their own sites is the bottleneck we exist to remove.
Can I filter out unhappy customers from the review requests?
No. Sending review requests only to people who said they were happy is review gating, and Google’s policy prohibits it regardless of what any of us sign. Our system asks every customer in a transaction window the same way. If a competitor is offering you a thumbs-up / thumbs-down split, they are selling your client a policy violation on your client’s Google profile.
How many partners are there now?
None. We are recruiting the first ones, and we intend to sell alongside them rather than hand over a login and wish them luck. If you would rather join something with a track record, this is not the moment — come back when we have one.
Still have one we did not answer?
Put it in the application. We read them, and an awkward question is a better sign than an enthusiastic one.
